tomato sauce stained plastic bowl

What bugs me is that I know better than this. It's hard to say what exactly possessed me to micro-heat marinara sauce in a white plastic bowl. Did I think this bowl would somehow be immune to the staining properties of the evil, but delicious, sauce? Regardless of what momentary insanity I was experiencing, I now have a lovely half white, half orange bowl to contend with. I tried filling it with ... click [more]

is anyone else having trouble getting on cd kitchen tonight? Or is it just me?

edit: Never mind, I'm braindead. It must be the fact I'm still floundering over what to eat for dinner. Can't spell "kitchen" tonight. cdkitchen is working fine.

What to fix for dinner!?!?!

Woe is me! I have no idea what to prepare for dinner. I've been talking about comfort food for a couple of days, but oddly enough my usual comfort-food-entrees aren't sounding appealing. I must be at my maximum comfort level

So the dilemma begins...

Yesterday it was chicken with stars soup that would have satisfied me. Today, I have a sweet tooth. Rice Krispy Bars! We never had any of the "fancy" ones. Mom always made the basic version - which of course, is very good! But nowadays you see recipes for all kinds - with chocolate, peanut butter - or my new favorite - caramel.
This recipe was on cdkitchen today and I think I'll be trying it this week. Have to get some vodka first though. I like experimenting with this type of recipe. It's an easy way to impress people too - they think the drink you're mixing them will just be the same ol' same ol'.

Comfort food

It's a dark and gloomy rainy day here. A perfect day for comfort food! I always get a kick out of hearing what foods comfort others. For some it's a PBJ sandwich, for others it's something sinful like double-chocolate-cocoa-fudge cake topped with mocha ganache (ha. Even for others something like a cup of tea is what brings up their comfort level....
