Step 2. For crust, in a medium bowl combine 1-1/2 cups of the cake mix, sugar, and cocoa powder. Using a pastry blender, cut in butter until crumbly. Add walnuts and 1 cup of the chocolate pieces; toss to mix. Press the crumb mixture onto bottom of the prepared pan. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-minutes. Cool on a wire rack for 15 minutes.

Step 3. In mixing bowl combine remaining cake mix, oil, water and eggs. Beat with an electric mixer on medium speed for 2-minutes. Pour batter over the partially baked crust. Bake in the 350 degree oven about 35 minutes more or until a wooden toothpick inserted near the center of the cake layer only comes out clean. Cool completely on a wire rack.

Step 4. In a small saucepan, combine the remaining 1/2 cup chocolate pieces and the light cream, heat and stir over low heat until smooth. Drizzle over cake.

Yields: 9 to 12 servings
