7 Up Cake

7 Up Cake:

You will need:
2 sticks butter
3 cups sugar
3 cups all-purpose flour
4 eggs
1 cup 7Up
1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla flavoring

Frosting:
1/2 cup cake batter
1-1/2 cups milk
2 cups sugar
2 cups baker's coconut
1 cup crushed pineapple
1 teaspoon vanilla

Coat 2-9-inch cake pans with butter and flour. Cream the butter and sugar in a bowl. Add eggs, flour, 7Up and flavoring.

Place all but 1/2 cup of batter in pans; if you need it for the frosting, recipe follows. ) If you want to use another frosting, then just use all the batter for the cake.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Bake for an hour or until layers turn brown. Allow to cool completely before icing.

Here's How:
In saucepan, pour batter, milk, sugar, crushed pineapple and flavoring. Boil on medium, stirring until it thickens. When thick enough, allow it to cool completely before icing the cake. Sprinkle the coconut over top.
