What is the "Yummy Factor"? By adding extra sugar, fat, or salt, many
of today's chain restaurants use these ingredients to give you a sense of the
food being “extra yummy”. Examples of this are salad dressings that are
extra sweet and salty at the same time or extra cheesy pizza toppings. Another
example is the injection of artificial fat and salt solution to create that
extra yummy texture. And, as we all know, this contributes to our weight gain
and increases our blood pressure. The addition of extra flavor and fat is why
we can tire of the food and feel bloated by some chain restaurants (i.e. yummy,
at first, but not so yummy the third time).
As you know, if you’ve been to our cafe, we, at Rudi's, are not afraid to use any of these ingredients (except for the artificial fat). If you've had one of our chocolate chunk cookies or French pastries, you’ll know what we’re talking about. We do, however, limit their use to their original purposes. That is why you might find our salad dressings less sweet, but no less tasty. Our grilled chicken may be a little drier, as if you cooked it at home, but it has a much more natural flavor.
So the next time you wonder why you keep coming back to Rudi’s, you now know why!
