Cookware:
1 medium pot
1 medium mixing bowl
1 small shot glass (for water)
flat surface
Ingredients:
1 pound of ground pork
1/2 pound of chopped shrimp
2 copped green onions
2 teaspoons of minced ginger
2 teaspoons of brown sugar
2 teaspoons of rice vinegar
3 cans of chicken broth
1 pack of won ton wrappers
small amount of flour, for won tons when freezing
Directions:
1. In the medium pot, add 3 cans of chicken broth and 1 chopped green onion. Leave on stove. Do not turn on stove yet.
2. Open the won ton wrappers package, and one by one, separate the won ton wrappers. This will take a while because they usually are packed quite tight and sometimes stick together. This is the hardest part of the whole recipe.
3. In the medium mixing bowl, add ground pork, chopped shrimp, 1 chopped green onion, minced ginger, brown sugar and rice vinegar. Mix thoroughly.
4. Take one won ton wrapper, wet one side, and add a small spoonful of filling. Take the top right corner to the bottom left corner, making a triangle, then take the other two sides together in the middle and just pinch them together. Make sure these are nice and tight. Once you make your desired amount, take one won ton and poke a small hole in the bottom of the won ton. This releases the air, and the meat will not expand and this will prevent the wrappers from falling off when cooking in the broth.
5. Turn on the broth, and bring to a boil. Add the won tons. Once brought back to a boil, it is ready.
