PASTA WITH CREAMY GARLIC AND WALNUT SAUCE

3 cloves garlic -- peeled
1 cup California walnut halves -- toasted and cooled

1 cup heavy cream
3/4 cup Romano cheese -- shredded
1 teaspoon salt
1 pound shaped pasta, such as medium bow ties
toasted walnuts -- optional
Place garlic, walnuts, cream, cheese, salt and pepper in food processor container fitted with steel blade. Cover. Process until smooth.
Cook pasta as directed on the package; drain. Toss with sauce.
