Sausage Rolls

INGREDIENTS:

2 Kilograms top grade beef sausage meat
1 Large brown onion finely chopped
3 Teaspoons mixed herbs
1/2 Teaspoon salt
1 Teaspoon black pepper
5 Sheets puff pastry ready rolled
1 Large egg

METHOD:

1. Preheat oven to 200 C

2. Place sausage meat, onions, herbs, pepper and salt in a large bowl and mix thoroughly with your hands or a wooden spoon

3. Cut the pastry sheets in half and spoon on the sausage meat spreading evenly

4. Brush the overlapping edge of the pastry with lightly beaten egg, roll up to form a long roll and cut into 5 individual rolls and place on a baking tray then brush the top with egg

5. Bake until golden brown about 20 - 25 minutes
