Shepherd's Pie 2-10-12
This recipe is an easier version of Shepherd's Pie that is delish! My friend Hillary gave it to me and it is a family fave around here. This dish is great if you don't want to spend a lot of time in the kitchen but want a great end-product that looks and tastes like you spent a long time laboring over your meal.
Ingredients: 1 lb. browned lean ground meat (I used ground turkey); 1 t. onion powder; 1/2 t. garlic powder; salt & pepper, to taste; 1 can tomato sauce; 2 cans green beans; 4 c. prepared mashed potatoes; about 1c. shredded cheddar cheese.
Directions: Brown ground meat in pan, season with onion powder, garlic powder, and salt and pepper (Be generous
. Drain
excess fat and pt meat in 9x13" baking dish. Pour 1 can tomato sauce over
meat. Cover meat w/ 2 cans green beans. Cover green beans with 4 c. prepared
mashed potatoes. Top with cheese. Bake for 30 mins at 375 degrees.
