Here is the basic recipe-you'll need:
1 gallon of water (if you don't think you can drink a gallon of tea in a reasonable amount of time-FREEZE some of it in ice cubes to add to your drink)
1&1/2 cups sugar OR the equivalent of your favorite sweetener. Don't be put off by the ammount of sugar! I think the tea is perfect, my son thinks it needs to be sweeter, my daughter calls it "unsweetened"-so its all a matter of taste.
1&1/2 TBSP almond extract
6 ounces frozen lemonade concentrate
12 tea bags-Now here is where you get to be creative! I used 7 "WildBerry Zinger" tea bags and 5 regular ones-it made an awesome tea. I have also used peach tea bags, Mandarin Orange tea bags and Pomegranate tea bags along with the regular tea.
Put about 1/3 of the gallon of water into a pot, along with the sugar, almond extract and lemonade concentrate. Bring this to a boil, then add the tea bags and remove from heat. Let this mixture sit there, steeping, until it cools. Remove a little water from the gallon container, remove the tea bags from the pot, and pour the tea concentrate into your gallon jug. Add water if needed to fill it to the top. CHILL IT..........then enjoy it (you can even put in some frozen tea ice cubes so the taste doesnt get watered down)
