2/3 cup Teriyaki sauce
1 teaspoon cornstarch
1 tablespoon corn oil
1 lb ground chicken
2 tablespoons minced garlic
2 tablespoons finely minced ginger
1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
vegetables for filling: julienned carrots, mung bean sprouts, julienned cucumber
Iceberg lettuce leaves, rinsed and dried
Hoisin Sauce or Plum Sauce
Combine teriyaki or stir-fry sauce and cornstarch; set aside.
Heat oil and sautee ground chicken in garlic and ginger, season with salt and pepper until chicken is slightly brown; drain
excess fat. Mix in teriyake or stir-fry sauce mixture; sautee for about 3 minutes. Remove from heat; stir in sesame oil.
Serving suggestion: Pour hoisin or plum sauce into a small serving dish; arrange sauce, chicken, whole lettuce leaves and cut veggies on a platter. Let guests assemble wraps by taking one lettuce leaf, spreading hoisin or plum sauce on the lettuce, spooning about 2 tablespoons of the chicken mixture onto the lettuce, veggie fillings of their choice and then wrapping to enclose. Dip in the sweet, tangy and spicy hoisin or plum sauce
