Shrimp Curry

Ingredients

  • Shrimps: 2 cups (washed, shell removed & deveined)

  • Onion: 1 medium size, thinly sliced

  • Tomato Puree: 1 tbsp

  • Mustard Seed: 1/2 tsp

  • Turmeric Powder: 1/4 tsp

  • Red Chili Powder: 1-2 tsp (based on your taste)

  • Coriander Power: 1 tbsp

  • Coconut Powder: 3 tbsp

  • Ginger and Garlic Paste: 1 tbsp

  • Cumin Powder: 1 tsp

  • Vegetable cooking oil: 2-3 tbsp

  • Coriander leaves: For garnishing

  • Salt: to taste

Method 

  1. Heat oil in a pan

  2. Add mustard seeds, let them splutter

  3. Add sliced onion, fry till golden brown

  4. Add ginger and garlic paste & fry well.

  5. Add tomato puree, cook till it starts leaving oil (approximately 3-4 mins)

  6. Now add red chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, fry well

  7. Add shrimps, cook on medium heat till it’s well done

  8. Take 3 cups of warm water in a cup & add coconut powder to it, mix well to prepare coconut milk

  9. Add coconut milk to the shrimps masala.

  10. Add salt to taste & cover & cook it for 5 mins on medium flame
  11. Remove and garnish with coriander leaves.
