Greetings from the Allegheny National Forest!

I've used many of the recipes I've found on the internet over the years. Some of them have even become family favorites and 'must haves' at each of our gatherings. When I'm in a pinch for "how to's" or just need something new or different to make, quite often I pay Robbie's Recipe Collection a visit, or spend a little time at Recipe Source checking out the vast collection of recipes there.

As for 'me', my experience with cooking started as a tot on a fruit and vegetable farm along the Lake Erie shore, obviously many moons ago by now. All of the elder women on both sides of my family were/are wonderful cooks (and very different in tastes and methods. Later, I went on to work in the hotel/restaurant industry, mostly in management, so I was pretty much "stuck with food" for a good many years.

As I grew older, cooking in my own kitchen became a wonderful and relaxing "hobby" for me. I cook and/or bake every day now and we entertain a bit here at the cabin, so I don't think I'll be reviewing many restaurants on this weblog. I only 'dabble' in gourmet type cooking myself, because what my family and I love is good stick-to-yer-ribs food.
