That's where I found this very easy and really delicious white bread, by Angel
Olvey, another member there.
I've found also that if your family can't polish off a loaf of homemade bread before it gets hard or stale, you can freeze it and later use it for really tasty homemade dressing for turkey or chicken. Mmm.
Tasty White Bread
1 pkg active dry yeast
3 tsp, sugar, divided
2 1/4 c. warm water (110-115 F), divided
2 tsp. salt
6 c. all-purpose flour
In a large mixing bowl, dissolve yeast and 1 tsp. sugar in 1/4 c. water; let
stand for 10 minutes. Combine salt, remaining sugar and water; add to
yeast mixture.
Add 3 c. flour; beat until smooth. Add enough remaining flour to form a soft
dough. Turn onto floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic, about 6-8
minutes.
Place in a greased bowl, turning once to grease top. Cover and let rise in a
warm place until doubled, about one hour. Punch down; shape into two
loaves. Place in two 8x4x2 loaf pans that have been coated with cooking
spray. Cover and let rise until doubled, about 1 hour.
Bake at 350 F for about 35-40 minutes. Remove from pans and cool on
wire racks.
