We had nothing sweet to eat in this house (it's a criminal offense, you know) on
a cold, boring Sunday night, and all I had was some unsweetened chocolate bars
to work with. So, I thought, what the heck, it's better than nothing. (I'm not
much for "one bowl" anything).
Well, let me tell you. These are absolutely moist and fudgy and delicious.
One Bowl Brownies
4 squares unsweetened baker's chocolate
1 1/2 stick butter
2 c. sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 c. flour
1 c. nuts
Preheat oven to 350. Line 13x9 pan with enough foil to to create "handles" over the edge of the pan. Grease foil.
Microwave chocolate and butter, stirring occasionally, until chocolate is completely melted. Stir in sugar. Blend in eggs and vanilla. Add flour and nuts; mix well.
These need to bake for about 25-30 minutes. Let cool, pull foil out of the pan by handles, and cut while warm.
(I sometimes opt for thicker brownies and use an 8x11 pan, in which case the baking time will be 30-35 mins.
