Stir together the flour, baking powder, 1 tsp. cinnamon and salt.

Beat shortening until light and fluffy. Add sugar and vanilla. Continue beating until fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating for at least 1 minute after each addition.

Add flour mixture and milk alternately to egg mixture, beating after each addition. Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake for 40 minutes.

Remove the cake from the oven and let cool for 10 minutes before turning out. After removing cake from the pan and while it is still warm, poke holes around the top of the cake with a fork. Pour warm cinnamon syrup into the the holes and onto the top and sides of the cake. Sprinkle with confectioners sugar.

Cinnamon Syrup

In a saucepan, combine all syrup ingredients. Heat and stir until butter melts. DO NOT BOIL.

Just wanted to thank you for the cinnamon bundt cake recipe of yours that I found online.

I tried it at the end of February for an event and everyone loved it. (More importantly, I loved it!)

It was the first bundt cake I'd ever made and although someone loaned me a bundt cake pan and had included a recipe for a pistachio cake calling for pudding mix, etc. I wanted to choose a flavor that I loved and I wanted it all to be from scratch.

I made a good choice!

I especially like the touch of the cinnamon syrup.

You and I exchanged email at that time. The cake recipe should read 6 tbsp. of butter and although vanilla is listed with the ingredients for the syrup, it's mentioned but not listed with the ingredients for the cake batter. I guessed and used 1tsp. vanilla in the cake batter recipe and it turned out fine.

Thanks again!

Sounds delicious, and I'll be trying it. I'll let you know how it goes over with my sweet toothed family.

Thanks, Becky!

Wonderful recipe!

I'm not sure why, but the syrup turned out a little too watery.
However, the family loved the cake in total.
Thanks!
