The Simple Truth

This week, I am simply thankful to have a kitchen to cook in, and food in the cupboards and money in the bank so I will be able to buy more.

In our community, we have around 600 evacuees and our church had the opportunity to provide one of their meals on Monday. I've never felt so sad and blessed at the same time as I cooked in my nice clean kitchen that day. There is no way I can imagine how they feel. With everything gone, everything. In one day, to have your home, job, bank, stores, neighborhood, your entire city gone. It is just so horrendous.

The faces of the people show the same shock and fear as those who have suddenly lost a spouse or child. Of course many of them have, but they have all lost so much.

Right now, I am so thankful to have a home, and a job and a town and I am doing my best to help the people that have found their way to my town.

Bless your heart. *S* This is such a nice post.

My prayers are with everyone touched in any way by this tragedy. I can't even begin to imagine what they're all going through.
