Half of a 10 1/2-oz. box of Waverly buttery saltines
1 cup of chopped pecans
1 stick butter
1 stick margarine
1/2 cup sugar
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line crackers up, side-by-side, on the bottom of a cooking sheet. Sprinkle liberally with chopped pecans.
Bring to a boil the butter, margarine and sugar and boil together for 3 minutes, stirring constantly. Pour over crackers and pecans on cookie sheet.
Bake at 350 degrees for 12 minutes. Remove immediately with spatula onto waxed paper or wire rack. Cool completely before serving.
Makes about 48 pieces.
