Need a quick meal that the entire family will love, then this Sloppy Joe recipe
is your ticket. Making this recipe will instruct you on how to properly reduce
sauce, which will come in handy for thousands of other dishes. It only requires
half an hour to prepare and it will be well worth it.
Ingredients:
2lbs. Ground Chuck
20 oz. canned tomatoes, blended
1 Large yellow onion, diced
3 Garlic cloves, minced
5 Baby carrots, finely chopped
2 tbsp. oil
1 tbsp. Brown sugar
2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp. Cumin
1 tsp. Chili powder
Salt and pepper to taste
Kaiser rolls, preferable
Preparation:
Chop the onion, carrots, and garlic and sauté in a pan with oil over medium-high heat until all components are soft and the onions are clear. Meanwhile, cook the beef in a separate pan until almost completely cooked. Then add the vegetables, tomatoes, cumin, and chili powder to the meat. Stir for 1 minute over medium heat. Add the rest of the ingredients and set over medium-low heat until the sauce begins to reduce, about 10-15 minutes. Stir occasionally. If the sauce boils, lower the heat. When it is done, the sloppy joes should be in a sauce that is much thicker and darker. Place meat on the Kaiser rolls and serve.
