Have you ever really desired French fries and either do not own a deep fryer or
want something healthier? Then you should follow this recipe because these
fries are great and easy to make.
Ingredients (Fries):
3 medium sized potatoes
2 tsp. of garlic powder
3 tbsp. of oil (vegetable, olive, or canola)
Salt to taste
Pepper to taste
Optional: Cayenne pepper for heat
Process:
1. Preheat the oven to 400F
2. Cut potatoes into French fry shape. It is easiest to cut sides off potato to form a block and then cut it in half horizontally. Then cut three to four slices (depending on desired width) down the potato vertically on both sides to get rectangular shaped fries.
3. Put potatoes in a pot with enough water to cover it and then boil the potatoes until the outside edges are translucent. 2-4 minutes
4. Then, transfer the potatoes to a mixing bowl and add salt, pepper, garlic powder, oil, and cayenne (optional). Put a baking pan on top of the bowl (preferably the one to put potatoes on) and shake the bowl a couple hard times to rough the ads a bit.
5. Put potatoes on baking pan and place it in the oven for about 40-45 min. Be sure to MIX the potatoes around every 10 minutes so they can cook evenly.
6. Once potatoes are crispy or crunchy, take them out of the oven and serve.
Ingredients (Sauce):
4oz. of chipotle peppers in adobe sauce
2tsp.of limejuice
1tbsp. of Dijon mustard
2 cups of mayonnaise (or more depending on desired heat)
Salt to taste
Pepper to taste
Process:
1. Mix all of the ingredients in a bowl and it is ready to eat.
To save time you can make the sauce 24 hours in advance or while the potatoes are baking. The sauce can be refrigerated for a couple of days. You can eat this side dish as a snack during a sporting event or as a side such for lunch or dinner with a sandwich. The sauce can be placed on anything you make because it is so delicious.
