Before you make this luscious dish, you will need to have a metal spatula and a
big metal pan, preferably 11” big. This is because you will want a bigger
spatula to be able to flip the fish without breaking it into different pieces.
This dish is very simple to make because it is just marinate and cook. The
active time for this dish is about 30 minutes and the marinating time can be
anywhere from 30 minutes to 24 hours.
Ingredients:
6 tblsp. Soy sauce (low sodium)
2 tblsp. Mirin
1 tblsp. Chopped fresh ginger
2 tsp. apple cider vinegar
½ tsp. Red pepper flakes
2 Ibs.-2 ½ lbs. of Salmon filet (Skin optional)
Salt
Pepper
Olive oil to cook fish in
Optional: 1 ½ tsp. honey to make the fish sweeter
Preparation:
Coat the fish with salt and pepper. Mix the first 5 ingredients together in a bowl and then pour it over the fish in a glass-baking dish for marinating. Flip the fish over halfway through the marinating time. Heat up the metal pan and then pour the oil into it and heat the oil up. Then put the fish into the pan (skin side down) over medium heat for about 9 minutes (depending on the thickness of the fish). Then flip the fish over on the other side and cook it through perfectly. Take the fish off and then serve it. It is best served with rice or bread.
