How to Grill Chicken Perfectly

When you are making dinner, and want to make a simple and fast dish, you should consider grilling chicken. It is fast and easy, but it is very easy to mess it up. You can either overcook the chicken entirely, get the chicken stuck to the grates on the grill, or you can cook the outside and leave the inside raw. If you read this guide, you will never mess up grilling chicken again.

Grilling chicken takes practice so do not be dismayed if you overcook it the first couple of times. Many factors can alter the way the chicken cooks. The most important factor you can consider is the thickness of the chicken breast. They come in all thicknesses and depending on the thickness you will need to change the cooking time and the temperature. The standard chicken breasts will be from ¾” to 1”, thin chicken breasts might be from 1/3” to ¾”, and you might even have thick chicken breasts from 1” to 1 ½”.

To properly begin grilling the chicken breasts you should season them with salt and pepper; it would be best to put a marinade on it or rub oil on it. For a standard or thin chicken breast, you should heat the grill to medium high temperature (around 375-400 degrees) and spray it with a non-stick spray for grilling whenever you plan to place the chicken on it. Grill the chicken on one side for about 6 minutes and then flip it on its other side for another 6 minutes. After the 12 minutes, you can remove the chicken breasts and serve them.

For thicker chicken breasts, the temperature of the grill should be around 350 degrees so the chicken can have more time to cook through. You should cook the chicken for around 8-9 minutes on each side and serve.
