Classic Pesto

I bought a large bunch of fresh basil from the local Amish farmers's market and had to find something to do with it. I love basil, but there was way too much for just making a pot of two of spaghetti, so I found a nice classic pesto recipe and modified it slightly. It's very flavorful and I was pleased with the outcome.

Here's the recipe:

Ingredients:
12 walnuts, shelled
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Advertisement:

3 garlic cloves
4 tablespoons butter
3 cups basil leaves
6 ounces grated Parmesan cheese
1 1/2 cup olive oil

Directions:

Place all ingredients except 1 cup olive oil in food processor and grind very fine. Add remaining olive oil and blend a few seconds until smooth.

Mmm, pesto pizza sounds devine! I haven't tried it yet, but I'll add it to my 'must make' list :).

I tried to upload a picture of the pesto, but couldn't get it to work :(.

Thanks for posting!
