This cake is light anf fluffy. Top it with Chocolate Icing 1 and if making layers use the buttercream frosting and you can use a thin layer of strawberry or cherry preserves. This cake is excellent, but if you over bake it you are in trouble.

This is a McCall's Cooking School recipe. I love all of McCall’s Cooking school recipes. They are all great. Besides being a student of my family I am a McCall’s student for sure. They were a great series of magazines. Recipes were incredible even if you did not like what they were making it won you over. They were step by step recipes and so very detailed. You actual did not need anyone to show you how to make the recipe. The instructions were so well written and they included pictures. I would love them to bring the series back and updated.

This is a heavenly chocolatey indulgence! You can't bake this wrong! If you eat it too soon it’s like a pudding. You can it too soon. If you wait it will cut nicely. This is not like baked fudge or flourless chocolate cake. This is a combination of a Mousse and cake combined. It is light airy as you eat this. This cake was served to me with a cherry preserve then Ganache on top. I have made this with the cake strawberry preserves and ganache with whip cream and fresh strawberries. You can eat this plain.

Ahh, my favorite chocolate cake! This is the first cake I have been making since after my easy bake oven days! lol My mother is from Germany and makes the absolute best German Tortes and incredible pastries to die for! This is a simple moist cake. It is fluffy, moist deep deep chocolate. It has coffee in it and that deepens the chocolate flavor in it. DO NOT OVER BAKE THIS! I frost this with my buttercream frostings: plain, raspberry, mocha, peanutbutter or we eat it with just 10x sugar.
