OH MY...is all I can say to this. I made this today it was DEEEEEE LICOUS!!! My mom got this recipe from a lady over 40 years ago. My mom is an incredible baker. Makes amazing Tortes and such. She never tried this. I did today. I should have taken a picture as well. IT WAS GORGEOUS! IT tastes incredible like velvet. A KEEPER MOM!

I have to admit I was never a fan of pound cake. My grandmother’s aunt’s pound cake won me over. I am addicted. But I will always continue to try new recipes to compare. You just never know. That is what is great about baking. This is similar to my pound cake recipe but my recipe calls for half margarine and half Crisco. You mix it forever as well!!!

This pound cake has been in our family for a very long time. It is from 3 generations that I already know of. I named it velvet pound cake only because it's taste and texture is like velvet and smooth and creamy. I never liked pound cake until I became an adult,lol. After trying many recipes and I am still trying them. This still comes ahead of them all. Hench Recipe Diva. I will try 20 - 30 recipes to see what is the best. You always need to be open minded.
