Southern taste from Paula Deen in this easy special treat you can assemble with the kids. This could be part of a special week end breakfast or brunch or part of a tea party either for the kids, or the grown ups or a casual, but delicious dessert. The few ingredients are simple to find and create a whole better than the parts!! I'm going to make this the next time we're out camping with friends as a first morning in camp surprize!

This just seems so right at a get together with friends on a hot summer evening in Georgia. You can make several batches a day or two in advance, or tell everyone it is a "bring your own blender" party if you're expecting a crowd!

Muz's Rhubarb Meringue Bars
July 29, 2007, 7:25 am
Rhubarb used to be a favorite where I grew up in the midwest during the spring. These days I find it fresh in the grocery many months of the year, and frozen all year long. These bars are rich and satisfying as a dessert any time of the year with their buttery pecan crust, and beautiful meringue topping. Muz was one of the worlds top bakers, and cooks and just happened to be my grandmother. All I love about food and cooking is because of her.
